When Dr. Peter DeSilva started Excel Physicians in 2002, he thought of what he, as a patient, would expect in a doctor’s office. The patient would want a doctor who is friendly, personable, board certified, caring, accessible and one that treated the whole person, not just their illness. With these values in mind, Dr. DeSilva created Excel Physicians to serve the community with excellent health services in every way. He blends his medical care with insight, education, and humor that allows his patients to leave the clinic feeling better than when they arrived.
Dr. DeSilva has practiced in South Orange County for over 30 years. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He relocated to Orange County in 1988 and joined a well reputed medical group to enhance his medical knowledge and skills. In 2001, he left that group to provide more personal care to his patients, a factor he considers to be of prime importance. He enjoys his thriving practice, joined by Dr. Natalia Bilan and more recently, his daughter Alexa L. DeSilva, PA-C, along with a team of assistants and office manager.
Dr. DeSilva’s special interests include Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, Allergy, Asthma and Orthopedics. His hobbies include travel, socializing, gardening and wine making.
While being a devoted husband, father of 2 daughters, doctor, and mentor, Dr. DeSilva has obtained a newer role as CEO and Co-Founder of California Cardiac Solutions Inc. With a passion to save lives, he started this company to develop a total heart replacement for those with end stage heart failure and who cannot receive a natural transplanted heart.
